How can you relate media theory to your question 1(a) answer?

Theory
My production work
“A process needed for problem solving... not a special gift enjoyed by few but a common ability possessed by most people” (Jones, 1993)
An idea; creativity; overcoming difficulties; more important when overcoming adversities

“Novel [new] associations which are useful” (Isaken and Treffinger, 1993)
Jail breakers; being able to maximise options through creativity; open pathways; innovation; dynamic; different; bold thinking

“The ability to bring something new into existence” (Anthony Storr)
Making an original piece
I think my creativity came through the use of producing my production around my image motif and linking the projects together through the elements of this motif. I was able to transfer the house colours to all my projects as well as the imagery of the love hearts. I also wanted to share the same connotations across my projects, this was made possible by these similar denotations that already promoted sharing and love.
“The making of the new and rearranging of the old” (Bentley, 1997)
Bringing a new chapter; changing boundaries; taking something old and changing them making them new
Researching thriller films allowed me to pick out different techniques used to impact upon the audience and create an effective product. By building upon what I had learnt it allowed me to then expand the boundaries on top of the solid connotations such as the use of flashbacks. Because of the ability to create a new level of rules it collectively elevates the features of thriller films that were previously thought to be acceptable.
Rule breaking/boundary testing
Contrast; understanding and amplifying conventions
Through my research I was able to alert myself to the conventions of a real music video product. Goodiwn’s principle of creating a relationship between visuals and music was a principle I wanted to conform to. Goodwin’s principle of the notion of looking however, was a rule I stayed away from as I wanted to engage with the audience in a less empathetic way and more of a sympathetic way as the character was presented to the audience, instead of being presented as the audience.
An inspiration that acts as a stimulus to enhance aspirations.
